Svart vecka i Nimba: Kring en svensk industri i ett u-land, Lamco i Liberia was made by Roland Hjelte, Ingrid Dahlberg and Lars Hjelm during the LAMCO strike in July 1966. Swedish television first broadcast the documentary on 2 October 1966.
The film follows the strike, arrests, military intervention and dismissals in Nimba. Its reporting and methods became the subject of a prolonged public debate in Sweden.
The editor of this site was in Yekepa when these events took place. First-hand recollections and identifications will be added here as the surviving footage is reviewed. |
